 I am water. To humans, I am simply just there. I’m something they just take for granted. But there is only so much of me and more and more of them every single day. I start as rain in the mountains, flow to the rivers and streams and end up in the ocean. Then the cycle begins again. And it will take me ten thousand years to get back to the state I’m in, now. But to humans, I’m just water, just there. Where will humans find me when there are billions more of them around? Where will they find themselves? Will they wage wars over me, like they do over everything else?That’s always an option, but it’s not the only option.

 挑出这句话，最大的原因其实是因为中文实在是太美了。那么英文表达配得上这么美得英文吗？我的回答是：可以的。不过，如果在你自己的词库里，bring只有“带来”的意思的话，那你应该不太能感受到这句话的美感。如果你知道bring有 to casue sth.和to cause sb/sth to be in a particular condition or place的意思的话，那风起、云动、风飘的感觉就都出来了，语言的美。 当然，开头处protective和“天衣无缝”的对比，更是绝妙。

 中文没有时态设置，所以需要用更多的词来修饰限定动词以便达到清晰表达的目的，但是英文只需要根据规则变换动词的形式即可。

 本句中有一个很常用的句型：so + adj. + that + clause. “如此……以至于……”，这个表达非常方便好用，其中的that因为不影响句意表达，所以在口语中是可以省去的。举个例子，比如你在对男神表达爱意和星星眼的时候可以说：He's so hansome that I cannot even move my eyes.

 这个段落，短小精悍，但是想要表达的意思可谓是直指人心，主要有赖于两个表达技巧：1. 重复；2. 照应。先说重复，文中两次穿插出现You do nothing.不是排比，而是重复和叠加，起到推动的作用，让人感觉到“严重性的加剧”和“人类毫无作为”的对比，表意加深！再说照应，开头说I move slowly.结尾说Perhaps I'm not so slow after all.形成照应和反差，发人深思。
