现代大学教育属于高等教育范畴之一,在中国的特定时期内还属于应试教育,大学教育的目的是培养适应社会发展的人才。
现代社会大学教育培养目标是以社会为目的。虽然它为适应社会发展培养了大批专业化人才,在一定程度上促进了社会生产力发展;但在这同时,它也丧失了自己的个性,沦为社会的婢女。
为此,大学教育必须以人的发展为目的,把教书和育人有机结合起来;在给学生传授知识和技能的同时,使他们的道德情操得到陶冶和修养,能够按照人的样子组织世界。这样,大学教育才能从目前唯社会是用的婢女地位中解放出来,才能引导社会文明发展。
这样,大学毕业生将不是物的存在,而是人的真正存在;不是单面人,而是内涵丰富的人。他们到了社会上,不仅能够谋生创业,而且完全能够承担起改革社会的重担。

教育模式:
第一,中国本科教育是“被专业”的教育。在现有本科教育模式下,每一个受教育者都会带上极强的专业烙印,每一个本科生除了学校的标签之外,同时都贴上“专业标签”,并自然而然地分流到与之相应的各行各业。
显然,在计划模式下,这一特征有其制度的优势,但在社会行业产业结构不断变换的今天,这一“被专业”的本科教育无疑需要深刻的变革。
第二,中国本科教育是“被计划”的教育。在现有本科教育模式下,高校从招生计划到教学计划,从教学计划到就业计划,都带有很强的“计划”思维,高校在“计划”面前缺乏自主权,学生在“计划”面前缺乏选择权。
一方面,带来了我国高校本科毕业生的毕业率和就业率“虚高”;另一方面,人才培养质量却难以提高,拔尖创新人才尤其匮乏。
第三,中国本科教育是“被选择”的教育。在现有本科教育模式下,一方面,我国本科教育中引入了国外大学常见的学分制、选修制等制度安排;但另一方面,大学生在专业选择、课程选择、教师选择,甚至是学习进程中,又都是事先被预设的,学生缺乏选择的空间和机会。由此导致了高校人才培养同质化严重、个性化缺失。
第四,中国本科教育是“被大众”的教育。经过近20年的大发展,中国高等教育已经进入高度大众化阶段,即将迈入普及化。尽管在数量上已经大众化,但由于人才培养的观念、模式、体制和质量标准缺少精英教育的基因,导致数量上的大众化缺乏精英教育的支撑。

1、从内部来说,要求大学以着眼未来和探究真理为己任,成为高度分权的有机体,以文化(学术) 机制作为自己运行的主导机制,以理性和学术价值作为自身追求的基本价值;
2、从外部来说,要求大学以学术自由作为维持其活力的源泉,应当比社会上的其它部门享有更高的自治权力,而大学组织内部比较松散的结合正是其生存和发展的重要条件。

大学教育的目的是为了提高人们的思想意识,本身应该是达到目的的手段。在大学里,学习技能,这样才能更好地适应社会。在第一年学习基础知识,在第二年学习相关的内部专业,在第三年学习专业知识,在第四年参加实习或研究生入学考试。大学是一个缩小规模的社会。

教育的注意事项:
大学教育只是从学生角色向社会角色转变的一种方式。人们进入社会的途径很多,大学教育就是其中之一。而目的只有一个,就是让生活更美好,让生命更有价值。然而,当代中国社会却把本末倒置。
在当今社会面临着就业结构不合理、劳动技能水平低的现实情况下,这是就业问题的主要因素,中国社会正经历着巨大的变化,同时也面临着多样化的社会需要人才,只有与人才培养的市场需求相结合,才能使人才尽力而为,为国家服务。
