1、联系学校
邮寄第一封信用来联系自己要申请的美国大学。一般第一封信的大致内容是详细说明自己的背景、学历、TOEFL、GRE成绩、专业、联系地址、索要奖学金申请表等。
2、申请美国奖学金
申请人员可以在考完TOEFL、GRE或GMAT后再与美国的学校联系，也可以联系之后在参加此类的考试。申请人员应该在开学的前8个月联系申请院校。
　3、认真填写申请材料
申请人需要填写的材料包括：校方寄来的入学申请表、奖学金申请表、申请人的收入证明、TOEFL、GRE(GMAT)成绩单、中英文成绩单各一份以及学历证明。

7. 怎么申请留学奖学金

目前新西兰研究生奖学金项目主要包括两类：
1.三年全日制博士研究生奖学金
2.两年全日制硕士研究生奖学金。
新西兰政府近期为国际留学生提供了新的奖学金计划——新西兰国际本科奖学金，简称NZ-IUS。
该奖学金覆盖全部学费，资助学生在新西兰的大学完成三年或者六个学期的本科阶段的学习。
今年，新西兰国际本科奖学金更名为“新西兰国际本科学费奖学金”。
所有30岁以下希望在新西兰进行本科阶段学习的学生均可申请，评选的标准以学术成绩优秀为准。
同时，新西兰的每所大学也有自己的奖学金项目。
申请注意事项：
申请资格主要有三点：
首先，学习成绩优秀，特别是在所选留学领域表现突出，需提供成绩单及推荐信；
其次，有较好的研究计划，并有意进入新西兰大学学习；
另外，语言要求：
IELTS成绩不低于6.5分且单项不低于6.0分；
TOEFL成绩不低于575分且写作不低于4.5分，或 TOEFL机考成绩不低于233分且写作不低于4.5分；
剑桥高级英语证书考试(CAE)B级，或剑桥英语熟练证书考试(CPE)C级。 
中国申请者必须通过国家留学基金委申请，新西兰教育促进会不直接接受学生的申请。
2008年的新西兰奖学金申请已经结束了，必须等到今年下半年才能开始2009年的申请。
详细情况如下：
受新西兰驻华使馆教育处委托，国家留学基金管理委员会负责2007-08年新西兰国际本科学费奖学金项目的选拔工作。该项目将资助至多7名中国学生在 2008年1/2月或6/7月赴新西兰8所大学进行为期3年或6个学期的全日制本科学习。 
现将遴选工作有关事项通知如下： 
一、选派工作须贯彻“按需派遣，保证质量，学用一致”的方针，按照“精选精派”的原则，并结合国家、本地区和本单位的发展对相关人才培养的需要。

以下各专业不包括在本奖学金资助范围之内：航空(Aviation)、牙医(Dental Surgery)、医学(Medicine)、验光学(Optometry)和兽医学(Veterinary Science)。
